Is the cane a good device to bolster Church Security?
Sadly in this day and age we now need to have Church security something unheard of years ago.
Many churches have an ad-hoc form if security, many are lucky to have several Police Officers in their congregation. However, real security requires a little more thought and preplanning.
Just having a couple of people armed is not the answer. A graduate response option is required not only to protect the people but the church from liability issues.
Keeping up with church attacks throughout the country is important.
The common denominator always heard is “We never thought it could happen here”.
Where does the cane come into all of this? Here are a few examples. First it is unobtrusive, therein lies its strength. It can be a less than lethal way to stop an aggressive person. It gives a reach advantage; It has the element of surprise. It is already in your hand ready to be deployed. It is a force multiplier. It eliminates you to go hands on. It lessens the possibility of any collateral injuries. It is safer for your designated security people.
Do not misunderstand me as there are times when an armed properly trained team is the only way to protect everyone and the church, but it is not the only way is some circumstances. Again, that is why you need a graduated response option. The cane is ideal for that. Cane training is easy and simple to learn.
