These stretches can be done either standing or seated, so they are ideal for those with limited mobility.
The most successful defense is to avoid the altercation!
You must ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. Do not allow yourself to become a victim!
It has often been said that the best block in any fight is “not to be there”. If your attacker cannot touch you they can’t hurt you. Your cane can help provide that distance to keep your attacker at bay. Besides your knowledge with your cane, your next best weapon is surprise. If you are perceived as “weak” because you are walking with a cane, then your attacker while be in for quite the surprise when that Cane shows them just how much strength and power you have!
The great advantage of a cane is the fact that it is inconspicuous, highly effective, and a remarkable self defense tool. Every inch of the cane can be used to defend yourself.
Everyday in the US between 8 and 10,000 people reach the age of 65 and this trend is expected to continue for the next 15 years. The shear numbers will result in mobility issues for many people!
Your cane can be your home-gym. Used alone, or along with resistance bands; you can get a full body workout that includes building strength, improving balance, and stretching your muscles.
